10 Travel Memories That Still Make Me Smile
Some travel memories fade over time, but others stay with you forever.
In this solo episode of the Winging It Travel Podcast, I'm sharing ten very specific travel moments from the past 15 years that instantly take me back whenever I think about them. These aren't just favourite countries or famous landmarks—they're the unexpected moments of peace, achievement, freedom and awe that remind me exactly why I love travelling.
From watching the sunrise over the Himalayas after hiking to Poon Hill in Nepal, to discovering paradise in the Cook Islands, exploring Thailand and Myanmar by scooter, reflecting after completing the Inca Trail, standing alone at Petra before the crowds arrived, watching hot air balloons drift over Cappadocia, experiencing the Canadian Rockies at sunrise, and witnessing Volcán Fuego erupt in Guatemala, these are the memories that continue to inspire me to keep exploring.
I'd love to hear your own unforgettable travel memories after listening to this episode.
In this episode you'll hear:
• Why a tiny tea house in Nepal became one of my favourite travel memories
• The beach that still defines paradise for me
• How riding scooters changed the way I travel
• Why finishing challenging hikes creates unforgettable moments
• My favourite sunrise experiences around the world
• The travel experiences that put me into a true "flow state"
• Why it's often the small moments—not the famous attractions—that stay with us longest
